Funk it Out

I woke this morning in a funk.  I’m sore, feeling blue, and worried about someone who got in some trouble last night.  Worrying is my nature.  I like to call it concern.  I love a lot of people and I only want good things for them.

So how do I get out of the funk?  First, some coffee and a healthy breakfast.  Next, a trip to the grocery store.  I have learned that certain stores and the farmer’s market make me excited to buy healthy food.  Going to the same old yucky grocery store doesn’t make buying stuff fun.  I suddenly started to perk up once my cart was filling with organic cucumbers and alfalfa sprouts.  Perked up even more when bananas and grapes were on sale, the kids’ favorites. There are GREAT deals on lean meats the day after the Super Bowl.    Last, I kept a promise to myself that I would splurge on a bottle of macro greens, which I think may help my digestive system.  To phrase it gently, I’m just not going.

Amazing.  I’m home from store, feeling better already.  Ripped into the macro greens and downed a cup.  YUM!  They look like they will taste like dirt, and instead were a refreshing dose of goodness.  I was immediately inspired to jump onto the blog and now that the baby is up we are going for a walk.  On my walk I can catch up with my hubby, make my baby happy, check on friend-in-trouble and get some fresh air!

It really is just a decision, isn’t it?  I was in a funky mood and I didn’t want to be, so I changed it, in about an hour.  I wonder what life would be like if we CHOSE to do this, all the time?

down some lbs and staying the course!
